Q. How long does it take to get product from China to the US?
A. Generally, it takes about 3 weeks via water from China to the West Coast. Delivery from the West Coast can be from 1 to 7 days depending on the mode of transportation chosen. Of course there are a number of good alternatives to bring product direct from China to your plant via air. UPS and Fedex offer Priority Air Service out of China.
Q. I only need a few parts, is it still cost competitive to go to China?
A. It depends! Small intricate parts that are labor intensive are probably always cost competitive. Parts that are primarily material intensive that do not have a lot of machining labor may not be as competitive. However, in any case, let Sum Service quote on your job today so you will know for sure.
Q. I have a question about a product I have received from China. Do I have to call China to get it resolved?

Q. I want to go to China. How do I plan a trip?

Q. How is the Quality out of China?
A. China is a large country (4 times the size of the US!). The Quality in China will vary just as it does in the US. However, that's why you need the SUM ADVANTAGE. Q. Will my designs and products remain Confidential?
A. Absolutely. Sum has signed Confidentiality Agreements with its partners in China. All employees that are assigned to work on your project are bound by this confidentiality.
Q. How do I get a quote?
A. Just contact Sum and we will get started. Prints are forwarded to our China office electronically. Each application is evaluated individually and then sent to one of our partners for a thorough quotation. The quote is then sent back to our US office where it is checked for accuracy versus the specifications that were requested. Finally, the quote is presented back to the customer preferably in person but also by Email when necessary.
